OpenVZ and KVM are quite different, but both have their advantages. The biggest technical difference between KVM and OpenVZ is that OpenVZ only hosts Linux Operating Systems.
In contrast, KVM offers an isolated environment with your own kernel that benefits from dedicated 100% RAM, CPU and storage. So, KVM would better suit your needs if you plan to resell hosting or need to run resource-heavy applications like game servers.

As soon as our billing department has verified your order, your VPS will be provisioned by our service delivery team. You will then receive a welcome email typically in around two hours (but no later than 48 hours).
Yes, your VPS comes with full root access via SSH. We recommend you only access your VPS in this way if you have some prior experience. If you need help installing software or managing your server, our support team are always happy to help, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Unless otherwise arranged, all virtual private servers are on a simple monthly rolling contract. This gives you the freedom to cancel at any time by providing us with one month’s advanced notice.
We offer discounts to customers that take a 12-month contract with their VPS. Please contact us for more information.
If you experience problems at any point during your contract, please contact us via phone, email or support ticket. We aim to give the best service possible, so if there is anything that you find unsatisfactory, please let us know.
If you do decide to cancel, we will refund you in full, less any 3rd party costs (e.g. control panels, SSL certificates etc). Please let us know your intention to cancel within 30 days after your order provisioning. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Yes, you have full root access to your VPS, so you can customise and install any control panel or application to meet your specific needs.
However, we are not able to provide support or assistance for 3rd party applications that we do not offer directly. We recommend that you choose either cPanel or DirectAdmin if you need a control panel on your VPS.
Yes, we offer a free migration service as standard. Our support technicians will take care of migrating accounts and data over to your new server at a time convenient to you.
We only support migrations from servers with either cPanel or DirectAdmin. Please contact us to arrange a migration.
The OpenVZ VPS uses a shared operating system kernel, and only Linux distros can be installed. You will require a KVM VPS if you want to run Windows or BSD.
